6-6-24 Alpena area
Master Angler Atlantic Salmon and some huge Kings in the high teens have been showing up recently in the catches. Steelhead, Coho, Pink Salmon, and tons of Lake Trout are keeping the rods busy and the lines tight.
Water has been in the low 50's throughout the region and the big hatches are almost done. We have been targeting the mixed bag in 60-100 fow with all rods set in the top 50 feet. Coppers in 50, 125, and 200 foot lengths have been on fire. Wire rods with Dreamweaver 107 high divers on setting #3 have been productive set back 75-150. Downrigger set down 30, 40, & 50 down have been extremely effective especially with free floating sliders.
Dreamweaver super slims in Steelie Cane, mixed veggies, double orange crush, and toxic toad have been best. Dancing anchovy, wonderbread, Green heans moonshine spoons have produced a few fish early morning and late evening.
