1-23-22 Lake St Clair Here's an awesome and educational guest report from Mark Ramsey on Lake St Clair ice fishing tactics. Here's what ive had luck with for perch and walleye.
-I usually target Deeper water 8ft-12ft.
-I also tend to use Larger perch minnows ( they preferred them lively and not dead) deadstick on small tungsten jigs (hooked just behind the head works best for me).
-I use a combination of glow as well as darker colors for the dirty water conditions. A glow Lindy perch talker tipped with minnow heads helps "call in" fish in the dirty water as well.
-Then finally I love slabgrabbers. I let it drop to bottom, gave it a few aggressive jigs, pound bottom a few times then mainly let it deadstick and occasionally gave it a couple small jigs. I hope this helps, and have a great day, tight lines!
