Sault Ste Marie Area Fishing Report

August 26th, 2020

8-25-20 Sault Sainte Marie fishing report
Its about time things are back to normal. The mayflie hatch finally at the end and the fish are turning on.
The walleyes are hanging on the edges of the main channel of the St.Marys in that 16 to 20 ft range. Pulling crawler harnesses with perch color beads and blades seam to be best. Always mix the presentation up with some chrome with some blue or purple beads.
Also picking up some eyes on 3/8 and 1/2oz jigs. If you go through an area with harnesses and mark fish with no bites , slide back through with the jigs. Hook the crawler in the middle to wacky worm it or use 1/2 a crawler.
Pike are still roaming the flats in the St.Marys. pulling the usual crank baits and spoons are producing .
The Atlantic's and Chinooks are starting to regroup after the long flie hatch.
Raber bay is still giving up some nice perch , just be patient and work around the weed beds.
It's always a good time in the Soo area no matter how fast the fish are biting.
