Western Upper Peninsula Area Fishing Report

May 25th, 2021

5-25-21 Western UP
As lake Superior is warming up there is still time to catch a variety of fish near shore from Ontanogen-Saxon Harbor. Anywhere from 10ft-60ft of water and criss-cross these depths until find fish. For those without a boat go to the mouth of many rivers and try for the occasional walleye, northern, bass, even musky that might enter these warm waters in search of food . Then when in the area don't forget to give Lake Gogebic a try. It has a good Small Mouth bass population and the water is warming up fast. The Walleye bite has been troublesome due to a very active young class of fish. Some try to weed out these small fish in hopes to get a chance at the larger fish. Myself I prefer to drift or troll to get away from the schools of smaller walleye. But if you know someone who never caught a Walleye before I believe Gogebic will getter done!
