Alpena Area Fishing Report

8-23-21 Alpena area
Fishing in the Alpena Area has been outstanding. The walleye and Hubbard lake bite has been very good. Guys are doing well casting shiver minnows, as well as trolling crawler harnesses. The bite should only improve as we had to fall. Over in the Alpena big water region, Captain Steve Hubert is putting the hurt on the coho salmon steelhead and lake trout. He's been doing most of his damage with Dreamweaver superslims, run off of his high and low divers and downrigger's. The high coppers, 50s, 100s, and 150s have been doing very well for coho and steelhead. Bright colored superslims are the ticket, like mixed veggies and other multicolored spoons.
