Little Bay De Noc
We’re almost a month into walleye season and the bite is still going strong. With the recent warm weather water temps in the upper part of the bay are in the mid to upper 60’s. Lots of fish are still holding in the mouth of the Whitefish River and around Garth Point. With a lot of sorting through short fish a limit of perfect eaters can still be had by using a jig and live bait or jig and plastics. This also provides a lot of actions for younger anglers as it’s easy to have 50+ fish days. For a better average size and to get away from the crowds try trolling crankbaits or casting swimbaits and crankbaits along the weed edge adjacent to deep water early and late in the day. During the day slip off into that deeper water and work the break line in 12-20 feet with crawler harnesses.
