Alpena Area Fishing Report

Grand lake is producing some very nice perch and walleye. Conditions in the bays lake ice is 6 inches but just froze last week. The perch are hitting tip ups with large blues, and with smaller bait, good perch jigging will get them also. The size has been 9 to13 inch perch. The best depth has been in 7 to 10 foot of water. If you have a hub style shack, you can set that up as a base position to go back and get warm. And grand Lake the fish will move around in an area. So once you find them you can set your shack up turn the heater on and have a place to get warm, that way the group can simply move around and try to do their best to stay on the fish.
