Fishing is starting to fire up as anglers were catching good numbers of coho salmon, steelhead, brown trout, lake trout and even catching Chinook salmon near the river mouths and between the White Rocks. Salmon were found in 30 to 60 feet and lake trout in 100 to 160 feet of water. There has been limit catches if you can locate an active group of feeding fishing. Surface water temperatures were in the low 60’s and will continue to drop with the cold front pushing in towards the weekend. Those trolling on the big water had the best results using Dreamweaver spoons and Moonshine spoons. The best speed was 2.3-2.5 mph. Leadcores and dipsy divers gave the most action in the shallower water.
A small number of fish pushed into the river systems and were still being caught in the Chocolay, Carp and Dead rivers.
