Not much has changed in the Marquette area besides freezing temps and snow storms.
Boat anglers stayed in shallow waters just outside the breakwall and in front of the rivers during the past few days again due to freezing temps, winter storms, and high winds. Those trolling spoons and body baits caught steelhead, lake trout, coho and the occasional Juvenal Chinook salmon still. Most anglers landed good numbers of fish if they could find the active schools. Electronics are a huge help in doing so. Natural colors have been the best colors. River fishing slowed. The Carp River was producing coho and steelhead. A big push of Steelhead entered the steams and fishing got very good for those willing to fight the early winter weather. Beads and spawn have produced the most fish under a float. Beads in yellow patterns and spawn in chartreuse/orange have been the best by far.
