Monroe County MI Area Fishing Report

March 18th, 2024

3-18-24 Monroe area
We Launched out of Bolles Harbor and set up in 13fow making out trolls due to both high west winds and covering some depth. With each run back I started pushing in shallower. We found actually that the best fish were hanging out in that 11-13fow range in the good stained green water. Fishing in the cold front conditions the fish typically will relocate. As the day went on with the strong westerly winds that water started cleaning up in there. We pulled a 50/50 mix of Reapers and Bandits but Reapers were definitely out fishing the Bandits. Best leads were Reapers 14-16 and Bandits 18-20 foot back. I was also running at 1.5-1.8 mph. Best colors were some of the new exclusive colors from the Outdoorsman Pro Shop, "Blue Alwife" and "Freedom Bait". With this cooler weather and water color pushing out, don't be afraid to slide out to deeper water to find these fish!
