Sault Sainte Marie fishing has been very good.
Weather hasn't been very friendly the last week or so but if you can get out the fish have been cooperating.
If you can get out between the windy and wet days there are some nice fish being caught. Munoskgon bay and Raber bay are producing some walleye trolling Flicker minnows and Flicker shads #7s on flats outside the weed lines. Shad colors seem to be working or any other natural color presentations.
With water temps dropping to the mid to low 50s the perch are showing up in shallower bays off the river channel in big schools. Bead rigs and crappie rigs near bottom using minnows or wigglers have given the best results.
The flats close to drop offs have been giving up some very nice Smallmouth bass. Jigs with paddle tail bodies and Hopkins jigging spoons have been working well and providing us with bigger fish as well. Chrome on the spoons and shad/natural colors on the Berkley power baits have been the ticket.
If you get to the Soo and the weather cuts your time short on the water , colors are at peak. Always nice to catch some of the color tour.
