Great Lakes on a Budget
With the cold nights and North winds Superior is cooling down but the fishing is getting hot. One can get extravagant with gear and tackle and probably catch more fish. Myself I use 2 cannon manual down riggers, my walleye trolling rods ,and spoons. Also for my third line I'll use deep diving crank pulled to the side with an Off Shore board,or combo up with a dipsy and spoon.I mostly plan on the days when the wind will be from the south and for this trip ran in 40-50 ft. of water 30 + 35 ft down. With all the fall activities starting up you will find that the boat traffic drops dramatically and the fish got the feed bag on getting ready for winter. So get out and wet a line and enjoy!!
