Marquette Area Fishing Report

4-4-21 Marquette area
Pods of Spring Steelhead have trickled in the Superior and Lake Michigan tributaries. A old fisherman once said “ 10 percent of the river holds 90 percent of the fish.” 4/5 steelhead are caught on Salmon and steelhead spawn bags.
Fish are holding in deep water behind gravel beds. Practicing catch and release, we are observing tight skien hens and lots of males. The best fishing is yet to come after the warm up and rains this week.
If you think Marquette is just for summer, you would be wrong, it's truly a year round fishery. Thanks Mike for a great report.
