Western Upper Peninsula Area Fishing Report

June 7th, 2021

6-7-21 Western UP
With the fast warming water temperatures it's time to try leeches and worms for walleye. Either slip bobber or harness them depends on one's preference. During the day fish the 20ft+ water depths early morning- evening try the 12-15 depths. Gogebic doesn't have much for structure so keeping track of daily wind directions helps then fish the down wind side of the lake. Bass fishing has been good depending on sun conditions these fish are next to shore then to the deeper depths. With the bug hatcheries starting on a calm day a fly-fishing tactic for these big smallmouth could be exciting!!All else try for bluegills in Bergland bay, these active fish are in the shallows for now.
